Poster Critiques
12/03/19
Current attainment: L1P+
Today’s target: L1D+
By the end of the lesson I will have written a critique, that identifies; Composition (layout), UI, Target Audience, Colour, Mood, Positives, Negatives and includes 2 ideas for development.
I would rank the Keswick poster in first place because the white space background makes the logo stand out and the title. There is also a range of different colours which catch the readers eye. A negative is that the gold writing doesn’t stand out as much with the white background which means it might not be readable from distance. The poster uses the rule of thirds as the top is the title then the logo and then the information about the festival. The poster creates a colourful and fun mood which will make people interested in it. the readability of the poster isn’t very clear as the gold information doesn’t really stand out with the white background which makes it hard to read. The target audience is more towards adults as it is quite serious and enthusiastic.

In last place I would put the Rainbow Umbrella Film Festival because most of it is in a dull colour which makes the umbrella stand out but, doesn’t make the poster look fun and interesting.

What factors need to be considered when designing a logo?
.Colour contrast
.Design
.Word mark or symbol
.Appropriate fonts
.White space
.Recognisable and distinctive
.Usable and functional, fit for purpose
.
Target: by the end of the lesson i will be able to justify the clients requirements and create an in-depth analysis of the client brief.
I have been given a brief from Gloustal town council to create two digital graphics, one to be created online, and a poster. The poster will need to be high quality, A3 and will have to be 500 pixels in width. The target audience is all ages all around the world, so i cannot include too much information as the younger audience needs to understand it. The event will be 3 days and will be located in a park with a specially built cinema and a festival.

improvement target:
by the end of the lesson i will be able to make simple shapes using 2/3 adobe illustrator tools, to create an image that meets the client brief
